International exhibition organizer, Conference and Exhibition
Management Services (CEMS) USA will launch local operations with a
three-in-one expo for Sri Lanka’s textile and apparel sectors in Colombo
from March 4 to 6.
CEMS Global-USA and Asia Pacific President and Group Managing
Director, Meherun N.Islam said South Asia’s textile and apparel industry
occupies a top slot in the export sector. “With constantly increasing
competition in the world market Sri Lanka’s industries can increase
their share in foreign markets and attract more foreign investment to
the country’s highly potential industries.
With the great potential offered by the sector CEMS has been
organizing the Textech Expo for the past decade,” she said.
The three exhibitions titled “Textech Sri Lanka 2010 International
Expo” “4 Dye+ Chem Sri Lanka 2010 International Expo” and “Colombo
International Yarn and Fabric Show 2010” will be held at the Sri Lanka
Exhibition and Conventional Centre.
This will focus entirely on Sri Lanka’s international textile garment
technology and machinery, dyes and chemicals and the entire export
sector in Sri Lanka.
Apparel Exporters’ Association Chairman Kumar Mirchandani said that
the apparel industry always look for new development and technology and
it requires everything under one roof.
Therefore this exhibition will be very important to the industry.
The Fabric and Apparel Accessories Manufacturers Association (FAAMA)
Chairman Hameed Ashroff said the industry has to find ways and means to
be competitive and sustainable in the market. An exhibition of this
nature will educate industrialists on the latest technology, he said. |
