Atamastana Chief prelates bless President

President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited Sri Sambuddha Jayanthi Viharasthanaya, Anuradhapura yesterday and received the blessings of Viharadhipathi Venerable Nugathenne Pannananda Thera.

The President also visited Venerable Mathawa Sri Sangarakkitha Sumangala Thera, Ven. Eithalawetunawewa Gnanathilake Thera, Ven. Ralapanawe Dhammajothi Thera, Ven. Halmillewe Rathanapala Thera and Ven. Galkiriyagama Soratha Thera received their blessings. The Bhikkus chanted Pirith and blessed the President.

During this visit the President also paid attention to the development activities of Mahameuna Uyana, Anuradhapura and gave instructions to relevant authorities to expedite the road and other rehabilitation activities of the area. North Central Province Governor Karunaratne Divulgane, Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, Minister S.M. Chandrasena and Additional Secretary President Gamini Senarath were also present.
