Work hard for better tomorrow

Minister tells his staff:

“The people of the country had done their best at the Presidential election. We rejoice over the landslide victory by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Now we cannot spare time any more, we should start work for the prosperity of the country through Mahinda Chintana second version,” Urban and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardane said.

He was addressing his ministerial staff at a ceremony at Sethsiripaya, Battaramulla recently.

He said the terrorist war is over. The Presidential election is over.

Peace and stability of the country is prevailing. No government can develop the country unless the Government officers and employees adhere to the policies and programs of the Government.

Whatever the political notion of individuals it is the duty of all Government servants to cope with the Government agenda genuinely.

The attitude of the Government servant should be ensuring the public a better tomorrow.

The next decade will be the most prosperous era of the country with Mahinda Chintanaya Ediri Dakma, he said. A kiribath and sweetmeat feast was also held to mark the occasion.

All the Secretaries, Chairmen, Directors and staff officers of the various departments of the Ministry participated.
