President assures facilities to provincial journalists

President Mahinda Rajapaksa told Anuradhapura district provincial
media personnel that every facility will be made available for the media
to continue their task of contributing to the country’s future
prosperity and creating a virtuous society.
The President yesterday hosted the UPFA activists and top ranking
Government officials, Provincial Council members and Pradeshiya Sabha
Chairmen, provincial journalists and village level election campaigners
who worked towards the holding of a free and fair Presidential election,
where he won a landslide victory.
President Rajapaksa accompanied by North Central Governor Karunaratne
Divulgane, Ministers S. M. Chandrasena, Duminda Dissanayake and North
Central Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake, freely mingled with
those present at the President’s House in Anuradhapura.
The media personnel told the President that the sacred city would
have become a pool of blood if the President had lost the elections.
They urged the President to look into the numerous difficulties and
hardships faced by provincial journalists. |
