Heroin worth Rs 800,000 seized

Nearly Rs 800,000 worth of heroin has been seized by the Police Narcotics Bureau and two suspects including a foreigner were arrested in Karagampitiya, Dehiwela on Tuesday evening.

Police spokesman SSP I.M. Karunaratna said a special team from the Narcotics Bureau cordoned off the Karagampitiya area at around 7.35pm and nabbed two suspects and seized a large quantity of heroin. A local drug peddler who is a resident of Dehiwela and a foreign national were arrested. The suspects were produced before the Gangodawila Magistrate.
