Fonseka supporter arrested with firearms

Navagattegama Police in the Puttalam district acting on a tip off arrested a supporter of NDF candidate Sarath Fonseka and seized two locally made firearms in his possession while he was putting up posters of Fonseka at Rachchiragama on Monday night, Police sources said.

Sources said there were two others also with him but they had taken to their heels on seeing the Police arriving.

The suspect was to be produced before the Puttalam District Court. Navagattegama Police are conducting inquiries.
