experts attribute the joys associated with cooking to several reasons.
“Cooking is a great way to relax. It is a creative process and
creativity is always therapeutic. It is also cathartic. For example,
chopping vegetables releases pent-up negative energy.
Cooking is satisfying since you create something delicious out of
‘raw materials’,” says consultant psychologist Swarnalatha Iyer.
And what fun it is when you are complimented on your cooking by loved
ones who sample the creations, she says. When you cook, you get involved
in the process. It blocks out all other stressful thoughts and relaxes
you instantly. Now you would certainly recommend it to others.
