Narrow shave for Wesley

Trinity College just failed to register an outright win over Wesley College in their schools Under-19 cricket tournament match which ended in a low scoring draw at the Asgiriya Stadium yesterday.

Wesley College were set a victory target of 174 in 80 overs and were 145 for 9 at stumps.

Trinity College 124 all out in 35 overs (Kavinda Jayasuriya 19, Suresh Wickrema 43, Basi Muzammil 5 for 38, Daniel Bartholomeasz 35) and 156 all out in 46.4 overs (Dushan Ranasinghe 31, Suresh Wickrema 49 n.o, Kithmal Wimalaweera 20, Ashan Fonseka 2 for 3, Basi Muzammil 4 for 51).

Wesley College 117 all out in 56.4 overs (Denuwan Rajakaruna 23, Ravindu Suriyakumar 30, Kavinda Jayasuriya 2 for 10, Suresh Wickrema 6 for 45) and 145 for 9 in 78.4 overs (Ravindu Suriyakumar 21, Ashan Kariyawasam 43, Suresh Wickrema 7 for 43, Tissa Sanjeewa 2 for 15).
