Emergency passed

The Motion moved by Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka to extend the Emergency Regulation by another one month was passed with a majority of 79 votes in Parliament yesterday.

Ninety-seven members voted in favour while 18 members voted against.

The TNA voted against. The UNP, JVP and SLMC abstained from voting.
