IFS partners Millat Tractors

IFS, one of the world’s leading providers of component-based business software, was selected by Millat Tractors Limited of Pakistan to connect its dealer network to the company’s main system.

Millat, one of the largest public companies in Pakistan manufactures Massey Ferguson tractors with over 50 percent of the market share and utilizes IFS Applications in their operations. This new investment will enable the entire business process from the manufacture of tractors to the distribution of the vehicles to the end purchaser, into one seamlessly integrated application.

The use of IFS’ application would now optimize each dealer’s ordering procedure and increase efficiency from the inception stages such as forecasting to maintaining the right stocks levels. Further, the dealers will get to order online, which in turn will be received by the Accounts Receivable at Millat.

The solution to dealers would be web based and each dealer would be connected on line for greater convenience. The online order would go through many steps such as approvals, stock availability checks, stock transfer or invoicing, and delivery notes with greater efficiency and effectiveness.

IFS Vice President for South Asia Jayantha de Silva said that success for a business in a country as large as Pakistan depends on the distribution network, and that Millat is moving in the right direction by choosing IFS to empower their dealers. “Millat is already a happy customer with IFS applications and they decided that our flexible and seamless solutions are ideal for their unique model of operations, where they have their own distribution channel for the tractors they manufacture.

We took our Dealer Management System to the individual dealers who then tried it out and declared it as a user friendly solution they can handle,” he said.
