‘Re-election of President people’s wish’

President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s efforts in eliminating terrorism which was considered unthinkable by any force in the world has given new meaning to world politics. This single achievement of the President has brought lasting Peace to all Sri Lankans said Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardena. The Minister was speaking at a public rally in Homagama.

Minister Gunawardena said we can never target the atrocities committed by these ruthless LTTE terrorists on the innocent people, religious leaders, political leaders, children, elders and even on pregnant women in the country.

“These bloody terrorists not only killed hundreds of Bikhus at Aranthalawa, but also desecrated religious places of worship including the sacred Dalada Maligawa and the Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura. People who are well aware of all these LTTE atrocities will show their profound gratitude to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Election on January 26, the Minister said.

“Despite pressure from the outside world, President Mahinda Rajapaksa stood firm to finish the war.

“Our President is seeking the support of the people to develop the country economically. It is also the wish of the entire people that President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be returned to rule the country for a second time on January 26,” the Minister said.
