Securing resounding victory for President:
Be united to fight economic war

The task at hand is not to fight with unseen rebel forces that were
annihilated but to fight the economic war said Fisheries and Aquatic
Resources Deputy Minister Neomal Perera.
It is not just a win but a resounding and reverberating victory with
an overwhelming majority should be secured for President Mahinda
Rajapaksa on January 26, in the coming presidential election, he said
speaking at a meeting at a Christmas carnival held under the patronage
of First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa at the Chilaw UC grounds.
Perera said The President trounced sinister international forces and
restored lasting peace in the country for all citizens, be they Tamils,
Sinhalese, Muslims or Burghers to live under one flag in peace and
unity. The people live can cheerfully in the island as children of one
mother.
This is the first Christmas the people are celebrating after winning
the lingering war that lasted for three decades. Deputy Minister said
Sri Lankan people respect human brotherhood and love and people lived
for years in harmony and concord.
On the other hand, we witnessed how mosques, churches and temples
were demolished; we saw statues so revered being desecrated and
shattered by rebels.
The backdrop to all these were international forces. The people
cannot forget the bomb blasts, claymore mines and inhuman carnage that
took place in the country with the restoration of peace. |
