International conspiracy to destabilize country

There is an international conspiracy to destabilize the country and destroy democracy. UNP and JVP leaders had brought in an outsider who did not have any experience to contest the Presidential election as a part of the conspiracy, Water Supply and Drainage Minister A.L.M. Athaullah told a press conference at the Mahaweli Centre yesterday. Earlier Norway had a deal with LTTE leader Prabhakaran and then Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe separated the North and East from the rest of the country, he said.

“Even today Wickremesinghe is planning to become the President in 2016 with the help of these anti - national forces,” Athaullah said. Though Wickremesinghe had put forward the Opposition candidate he would not vote for him because his main aspiration is to preserve his position as the UNP leader, Athaullah observed.

The entire country knows that Rauf Hakeem and Ranil Wickremesinghe betrayed the country and helped to divide the country. Though Hakeem says he would bring 80 percent of the Muslim votes from the East, the people in the North and East would vote in gratitude for President Mahinda Rajapaksa who brought peace to the country.

Hakeem does not have the SLMC party support as SLMC members are for President Rajapaksa, Athaullah said.

Ministers Arumugam Thondaman and P. Chandrasekaran from the hill country have pledged their support to President Rajapaksa, he said.
