Ministry assures uninterrupted supply of essential drugs

Drug shortage?

Drug shortages in hospitals can be informed to 0112681175 and 0777347721.

The Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry’s attention has been drawn to several media reports where difficulties faced by patients due to the alleged lack of certain pharmaceuticals have been highlighted.

The Ministry wishes to reiterate that a mechanism by which these shortages and be identified early and be replaced without causing inconvenience to the patient is already in place. However, if there are any shortages, steps will be taken to ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential drugs to hospitals.

The Ministry wishes to inform the public that any complaints regarding shortage of pharmaceuticals can be made to Chief Pharmacist, Ranjith Perera of the Ministry.
