The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognized Macky Hashim or his distinguished services to the Chamber of Commerce recently at Hotel Hilton Colombo attended by Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayaka.

Macky Hashim was a strong proponent of trade liberation under SAFTA. He arranged the symposium on Trade and Clothing Post Quota Regime to take stock of the strengths and weaknesses of the region and study other regional integration experiences from Europe and Germany.
