ASPI records high

The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) yesterday recorded the highest All Share Price Index (ASPI) of 3280.8 up by 1.5 percent. This is the highest All Share Price Index during the history of CSE. The Milanka Price Index has also gone up to 3757.0 up by 1.8 percent since May 2007, CSE, Manager-Business Development, Tushara Jayaratne told the Daily News Business.

He said that the Milanka Price Index (MPI) recorded the highest turnover after two years and the total market turnover recorded the highest for a given year yesterday by Rs. 138.3 billion after the highest in 2005 of Rs. 140.6 billion.

"The total value of CSE Market Capitalization of Rs. 1058.4 billion had the highest ever market capital. It had been a significant day for records in CSE that the Average Daily Turnover for this year for a given year recorded as Rs. 588.6 million.
