Shuttlers Thilini and Nuwan for Lucknow

The Sri Lanka Badminton Association has been invited to nominate players for the Syed Modi Grand Prix Tournament to be held in Lucknow, India from December 15 to 20, 2009 to commemorate the Asian Silver Medallist, Syed Modi.

The accommodation for the tournament has been provided free for all participants whilst the organizers have agreed to bear the air fares of two players from among the participants.

As Sri Lankan National Players including top seed Niluka Karunaratne, Diluka Karunaratne and veteran Chandrika de Silva have declined to participate; the Association has selected women’s Champion Thilini Jayasinghe and Nuwan Hettiarachchi as participants.
