Sirisoma takes billiards title by beating Aslam
K.H. Sirisoma of the Sri Lanka Ports Authority won the billiards
title of the M.J.M. Lafir Memorial Billiards and Snooker Tournament
conducted by the Social and Recreational Committee of the MICH by
beating S.H.M. Aslam of Moors Sports Club in the final worked off at the
MICH Billiards Table yesterday.
He had scores of 102, 100, 100, 31, 103 with highest breaks of 58,
62, 103 on his way to win the final by overcoming Aslam who had scores
of 42, 70, 41, 100 and 32 with highest breaks of 57.
Ryan Somaratne of Otter Aquatic Club will confront Susantha Boteju of
YMCA in the snooker final today.
Ryan Somaratne beat Varun Kumar of India by four frames to three
(11/69, 60/48, 32/73, 59/61, 77/01, 92/14, 70/33). He had a highest
break of 56 while Varun Kumar had a highest break of 65. In the other
semi-final, Susantha Boteju of YMCA overcame Saleem of India by four
frames to two (83/44, 61/18, 91/04, 23/64, 25/71, 91/00) with a highest
break of 71. The snooker finals will be played at the same venue today.
