Over 35,000 jobs in hospitality sector

Tourism Minister Achala Jagoda stated that a project is launched to create 35,000 employment opportunities on a concept of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He made this statement yesterday at a press conference held at the Tourism Ministry.

Minister Jagoda stated that the first phase of the project was to develop the Tourism Industry in the Country and bring 2.5 million tourists to Sri Lanka by 2016. He said that more than 35,000 employment opportunities would be created in the field of Tourism.

The minister further said youth of this country had the opportunity of obtaining training at the Sri Lanka Tourist Hotel Management Institute and by improving language skills they could enter the international hotel field as well.
