Editor Merrill Perera's latest book Panny valalu will be launched on
December 15 at Gangarama temple, Colombo 2 at 4 p.m. Merril is known for
his penchant for films and arts and he measures the period when he
compiled the film and arts page at the Dawasa newspaper.
Though many people know Merril as a senior journalist who mingles
well with his colleagues or even juniors in the field, there is another
multicoloured side to him too. He is a great painter and is now planning
to launch an art exhibition soon.

Chandrasiri Dassanayake's latest book Mee Dume Minissu was launched at
Dayawansa Jayakody Book Exhibition Hall, Colombo 10 on December 8 at 10
am.
Mee Dume Minissu is the authentic Sinhala translation of H. Rider
Haggard's popular work The People of the Mist.
Dassanayake is the author of many other translations such as Sendeve
Sirakaru, Jamaika Thanayama, Mantrakariyage Sirasa, Pragnave Diyaniya
Ayesha, Amen Deviyage Diyaniya, Sheeba Reginage Muduva, Arunodaye
Regina, and Cleopatra.
Mee Dume Minissu is a Dayawansa Jayakody publication.
Akuru Manpetha back on board
After a long break Akuru Manpetha Book Reading session will be held
now once a month. The selected book for the month of Decmber is Aachari
Seeya Dutu Didulana Andakaraya by Piyal kariyawasam. It will be held at
Sarasavi Bookshop, Nugegoda on December 10 at 5.45 p.m. |
