It's 'The End'

Dileepa Jeewantha will showcase an exhibition of paintings and
instillations at the Lionel Wendt art Gallery, Colombo 7, from December
8 to 10. Titled 'The End', the exhibition opened on December 8 at 5 p.m.
and will be opened to the public from December 9 and 10, 10 a.m. to 7
p.m.

Hailing from the south of the country in the coastal region of Galle
Dileepa had been inspired by his surrounding to take up the brush.
His paintings encompassing vibrant hues brighten up the walls that
they adorn.
The old boy of Hikkaduwa Sri Sumangala Vidyalaya had taken on the
higher diploma in multi disciplinary design for three years before
moving onto the stages of diploma in graphic design and diploma in
multimedia.
He had even bagged a certificate course in paintings at VAFA,
Colombo.

Dileepa had showcased his work at an exhibition at Gandhara early
this year.
However the talented artist had first broken into the limelight by
unveiling his exhibits at a group exhibition presented by VAFA in 2005.
Having clinched the Young Designers' Awards in 2002 presented by the
Sri Lanka National Design Center and Enterprise Development Industry
Policy, Investment Promotion and Constitutional Affairs Ministries in
2002 Dileepa hopes that many more will enjoy his exhibits at 'The End'. |
