Marian Ladies Premier champs

Opener Sweeni de Alwis struck an unbeaten 72 to help Marians Ladies beat Kurunegala Youth Ladies by five wickets in the SLC Women's Premier limited overs cricket tournament final worked off at the Colts CC grounds in Havelock Park yesterday.

Sweeni de Alwis also put on an unfinished 75 runs for the sixth wicket along with Lasanthi Madushani (24) after Marians Ladies had lost half of their side for just 74 runs at one stage.

Earlier Kurunegala Youth Ladies were restricted to 148 runs from 47.5 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat first. Rangika Fernando caused most of the damage with three wickets and was supported well by Janakanthi Mala and Sashikala Siriwardena.
