Denzil to referee at Asian Tourney

T. Denzil Darling a qualified soccer and rugby referee left the island yesterday to officiate as referee at the Asian schools soccer championships to be held in Bangkok from December 1-10.

Denzil prefect of games at S. Thomas’ College, Bandarawela has got the opportunity to officiate in an international soccer tourney for the first time.

He left the island along with the Sir Lanka schools team which too is competing in this tournament.

The countries participating in this years tourney are the host Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, India, Pakistan, Vietnam and Sri Lanka. All matches are to be staged at the National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
