Chathura leads SL to victory
The Sri Lanka under 19 team launched their campaign with a
seven wicket victory on the Duckworth and Lewis scoring method over the
touring Bangladesh under 19 side in their Tri-Nation limited overs
cricket tournament second match worked off at the Rangiri Dambulla
International Stadium yesterday.
Skipper and opening bowler Chatura Peiris snapped up four wickets for
38 to restrict the Bangladesh under 19 team to 211 for 9 from 43 overs
after they had won the toss and elected to bat first.
In reply Sri Lanka under 19 raced to 185 for 3 from 37.2 overs before
bad light halted play early. All rounder Udara Jayasundera cracked a
superb 82 with six boundaries while Rumesh Buddhika remained unbeaten 54
with four boundaries.
