No show by JVP, SB

The JVP which was in the forefront of promoting Sarath Fonseka as the common candidate was conspicuous by its absence when the General called on the Venerable Mahanayakas of the Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters in Kandy yesterday.

Another notable absentee was UNP National Organizer S.B Dissanayake although the UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayaka and most of party stalwarts were present.

On questioning the General said he had informed all parties including the JVP who was supporting him, before calling on the prelates.
