IBM appoints GM for Sri Lanka
IBM (NYSE: IBM) appointed Chrishan Fernando as the Country General
Manager for Sri Lanka. The appointment reflects IBM's commitment to
further developing its presence and opportunities in Sri Lanka, which is
a significant growth market within IBM's India/South Asia unit.

With 25 years in the IT industry in Sri Lanka and the South Asia
region, Fernando brings with him substantial market knowledge and
experience that will enable IBM to accelerate growth and enhance market
share. Previously, Fernando was with Hewlett Packard Ltd. (HP) for more
than twelve years as its Country Manager in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
He managed markets in Bangladesh, Nepal and other parts of South Asia.

Fernando will be at the helm of the team of IBM Sri Lanka, while
taking additional business direction from the Emerging Markets Leader
for IBM India/South Asia.
