SAARC Ministers meet today

The Second Meeting of Science and Technology Ministers of SAARC countries will begin today at Hilton Hotel, Colombo.

The working session of high level officials took place yesterday. They finalized the agenda for today’s meeting.

Afghanistan Higher Education Minister Dr. Azam Dadfar, Ministry’s Advisor Dr. Abdul Qadir Amiryar, Bangladesh Science and Technology State Minister Yeafesh Osman, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Science Information and Communication Technology Neazuddin Miah, Nepal Science and Technology State Minister Indra Prasad Dhungel, Ministry’s Secretary Dr. Ram Hari Aryal, and Federal Minister for Science and Technology of Pakistan Muhammed Azam Khan Swati will attend today’s meeting.

India’s Information technology Department Secretary Dr. T. Ramasami will lead the six member delegation from India. The other members include International Division Head Dr. A. K. Seed, Additional Secretary Rakesh Singh, Scientist Dr. K. K. Dwiredi and an External Affairs Ministry representative.

The Maldives will be represented by Civil Aviation and Communication Ministry Permanent Secretary Mohamed Latheef. SAARC Secretariat Secretary General Shed Kant Sharma Director Ghulam Dastgir and Syed Haidser Ali Jafri would also participate.
