SATRC meeting begins

The 11th South Asian Telecommunications Regulators' Council (SATRC) meeting will commence today and continue till November 26 at the Cinnamon Lakeside hotel.

The meeting organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) is hosted by the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) headed by Director General of TRCSL Priyantha Kariyapperuma.

The event will bring together APT experts Government and regulatory agency officials and industry leaders.

Representatives from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will participate.

Heads and selected senior level officers from the Telecommunications Regulatory Authorities of the member countries of SATRC including the TRCSL Chairman Lalith Weeratunga will be present.

Minister of Export Development and International Trade Prof. G.L. Peiris will be the chief guest.
