Australian MPs commend healthcare service

A team of Australian MPs from Victoria State who are now in Sri Lanka
on an inspection tour have highly commended the Government for providing
a quality healthcare service to the public free of charge for the past
60 years, a Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry spokesman said.

Lanka met Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala
de Silva recently. |
He said that the team of MPs will inspect the ongoing constructions
of Sri Lanka - Victoria Emergency Neurotroma Centre to be built at the
Karapitiya hospital at a cost of Rs.450 million.
The team of MPs inquired from Minister De Silva how the Government
successfully provides free healthcare to the Sri Lankan public.
Minister De Silva pointed out to them that the Sri Lankan Government
has been providing quality free healthcare for the Sri Lankan public,
and even foreigners visiting Sri Lanka.
Minister of Parliament and State Member of Essendon, Judy Maddigan,
Member for Western Metropolitan Region Khalil Eidech and Parliamentary
Secretary for Multicultural Affairs Liz Beattie are among the team of
Australian MPs from the Victoria State. |
