Religious ceremonies, programs to bless President
A series of religious and other programs to mark President Mahinda
Rajapaksa's birthday and fourth anniversary of assuming office and
invoke blessings on him have been organised by several institutions,
religious and civic organisations on November 17, 18 and 19.
Chief incumbent of the Bellanwila Raja Maha Viharaya Ven Dr.
Bellanwila Wimalarathana Thera hands over the report to
President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday. Ven Dr.

A religious ceremony organised by the Union of Assistant Secretaries
will be held at the Sambuddhaloka Viharaya, Fort, Colombo on November 17
at 6 p.m.
On November 18 the SLFP Professional Association will conduct a Hindu
Pooja at the Colombo 12, Sri Sivasubramaniam Swami Kovil at 9 a.m., a
Muslim religious ceremony at the Dawatagaha Mosque, Colombo 7 at 4 p.m.
and a pinkama at the Bellanwila Rajamaha Viharaya attended by Minister
Gamini Lokuge at 5.30 p.m.
The same day Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha Thera will deliver a
dhammadesana at the Natural Aquatic Resources Research and Development
Agency (NARA) Mattakkuliya as part of a pinkama organised by the Sri
Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya NARA branch while a pinkama organised by
the Sri Lanka Vishwa Samadhi Padanama will be held at the Dharmavijaya
Viharaya, Millawa, Kurunegala at 5 p.m.
On November 19 a pinkama organised by the Public Estate Management
and Development Ministry will be held at the Gangaramaya Hunupitiya at
10 a.m. |
