Another chance for deserters to delist

Army deserters who didnot utilise the opportunity to get delisted earlier have been given another opportunity to get formally delisted by reporting to the Sri Maha Bodhirajaramaya Panagoda between December 7 and 31.

Army spokesman Brigadier V.U.B. Nanayakkara said deserters who wish to make use of this opportunity should bring their NIC to prove their identity and five copies of a stamp size colour photograph since the job description in the NIC had to be altered after delisting.

Those who have lost or misplaced their NICs should bring the original and photocopy of a complaint lodged at a police station reporting such loss and the driving licence, passport or a postal identity card.

Those who comply will be issued with the delisting certificate on the spot, he said.
