Confidence walk with Wasim Akram postponed

Dale Amarasinghe Head of the Diagnostic Division of J.L. Morison son & Jones (Ceylon) PLC, the sole agent for roche Diagnostics said that the “Confidence walk” with Wasim Akram has been postponed to January 2010 due to the demise of his wife Huma Wasim.

Wasim Akram who was on a world tour promoting the concept of “Live life the way you want” was planning to lead the “Confidence Walk” with over 1,500 students & sports personnel on the “World Diabetes Day” which was to take place on November 14, 2009.

Walk was organized in association with the Department of Education, Western Province under the leadership of R.A. Kularatne, Deputy Director (Physical Health Education & Sports). Amarasinghe added “On behalf of all Sri Lankans we express our condolences to our true friend, Wasim Akram and his family and wish them strength to bear this sorrow”.

The new date for the “Confidence walk” will be announced by Optimum Q International Pvt. Ltd., Event Manager of this event, after the period of bereavement.
