He added that it is natural to have ideological differences when
working with them.
Minister Tennakoon expressed these views at the awards presentation
ceremony at the Heritans Hotel, Kandalama organized by T.B. Tennakoon
Foundation recently.
Tennakoon said Ministers, MPs as well as government servants who are
paid by the people should serve the people to the best of their ability
and it is the best investment they could make on behalf of the people
and the country.
Today , it is obvious that a satisfactory service is being provided
to the public through public servants under the atmosphere created by
the Government. Public servants also could discharge their duties with
self respect and dignity, the Minister said.
He said that the time has come to serve the public without adhering
to the establishment code and financial regulations but with a service
oriented mind within the legal frame.
The Minister said it is the prime responsibility of the public
servants to do the maximum service to the public who seek their
assistance.
Eleven Divisional Secretariats in the Matale District and the Matale
District Secretariat were also able to secure national awards at the
National Productivity Awards Ceremony. The Heritans Hotel, Kandalama won
the 2nd place in the Central Province and the 3 rd place at the National
Level productivity competition for 2008. |
