Access achieves marked growth
Access Engineering Limited achieved a marked growth during the
financial year 2008/2009, while further strengthening its position as
one of the country's top ranked engineering firms.

Turnover for 2008/2009 increased from Rs. 2.4 billion to Rs. 3.4
billion. Profit before tax of the company grew from Rs. 397 million to
Rs. 960 million. This includes profits from joint venture partnerships
for the financial year, which increased from Rs. 10 million to Rs. 382
million, Access Engineering Limited, Chief Operating Officer, Rohana
Fernando said in the 2008/2009 annual report.
From an operational prospective, the company continued to pursue a
strategy aimed at strengthening its portfolio in providing value
engineering services and elevating the customer base to enhanced service
offering.
The company also ventured into new areas of business confident of the
sustainability inherent to the construction industry, particularly
infrastructure development by further strengthening its partnership by
enhancing its services.
Investments in key areas have enhanced the performance of the company
while increasing the productivity, capacity, business volume and
profits.
Affiliations with reputed international contractors and infusion of
engineering resources to further develop the in-house design team helped
actualize our capacity building exercise.
