Committee to help drought victims

The Government has appointed a Cabinet sub committee to look into the drought prevailing in certain parts of the country.

The committee consists of four Ministers who will take action to assist the victims. Disaster Management and Human Rights Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe, Mass Media and Information, Enterprise Development and Investment Promotion Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Social Services and Social Welfare Minister Douglas Devananda and Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services Minister Risath Bathiutheen will take steps to provide relief to the victims.
