Complaints on office administration in judicial
sector :
Minister appoints committee
Justice and Law Reforms Minister Milinda Moragoda in consultation
with Chief Justice Asoka de Silva has appointed a high-powered committee
to consider public complaints regarding office administration in the
judicial sector.
The Government's policy is to ensure a unified and inclusive approach
to develop and maintain law and order in Sri Lanka in a post conflict
era.
The Justice and Law Reforms Minister is accordingly committed to
ensure the benefits of laws, rules and regulations to all communities
without discrimination, a Ministry press release said.
Court Appeal Judge Justice K.T. Chithrasiri who is also Chairman of
the Human Resources and Capacity Building Committee set up recently by
the Minister under the aegis of the Chief Justice will head this
committee.
According to the new setup, the public can send their complaints, in
respect of matters connected with office administration such as delay in
making refunds of Security Deposits, Loss of Case Records and Execution
of Writs especially which do not come within the judicial functions of
Judge. The Judicial Services Commission Secretary said the public can
send their complaints to the Secretary, Judicial Services Commission,
Hulftsdorp, Colombo 12.
