Rs. 5025 m more for rural electrification
The Power and Energy Ministry has launched 2225 electrification
projects at a cost of Rs. 5025 million to provide electricity to 15
percent of the population who are without this basic facility within the
next three years.
All remaining power projects will be completed by 2012 and this will
cost an additional sum of Rs. 1650 million, Ceylon Electricity Board
stated.
There will also be 225 new projects under the Rural Electrification
project number four while another 1000 such power projects will come
under number 8 of the same project.
Under Uthuru Wasanthaya program there will be 400 projects and
another 1000 new projects will come under accelerated power project in
the country.
