Bloomfield bounce back to beat Army outright

Off spinner Suraj Randiv returned career best figures and came closer to capturing all ten wickets in an innings as Bloomfield came back magnificently to beat Sri Lanka Army Sports Club outright by five wickets in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.

Randiv put up a tremendous performance and captured nine for 109 as Army SC were dismissed for 231 in their second innings. Bloomfield who had earlier conceded first innings points then reached their victory target thanks to a sparkling century from opener Chamara Silva.

Army SC: 251 and 231 (T. Masmulla 28, M. de Zoysa 33, C. Withanage 19, E. Silva 18, C. Prasad 58, D. Soysa 41, S. Randiv 9 for 109).

Bloomfield: 216 and 267 for 5 (C. Silva 112, K. Gangodawila 55, S. Randiv 48 n.o).

Alankara takes 7 for 73

Off spinner Alankara Silva took a career best seven wickets for 73 to help Baduraliya CC beat Saracens SC outright by ten wickets in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match concluded at Panadura yesterday.

Saracens SC: 200 and 187 (G. Alwis 34, C. Fernando 27, E. Abeysinghe 21, I. Ratnayake 24, D. Randika 30, A. Silva 7 for 73, H. Silva 2 for 30).

Baduraliya CC: 366 and 24 for no loss.

Chilaw Marians win easily

Spinners Dinuka Hettiarachchi and Janaka Gunaratne snapped up three wickets each to give Chilaw Marians SC a convincing ten wicket outright victory over CCC in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match concluded at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

CCC: 167 and 245 (J. Mubarak 29, B. Perera 21, S. Pathirana 82, N. Perera 37, D. Hettiarachchi 3 for 61, J. Gunaratne 3 for 100).

Chilaw Marians SC: 403 and 10 for no loss.

Superb century by Maharoof

All rounder Farveez Maharoof returned to form with the bat scoring an unbeaten 115 as NCC cruised to a six wicket outright victory over Colts CC in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match concluded at Havelock Park yesterday.

Colts CC: 170 and 224 (D. Perera 61, R. Silva 31, G. Bandara 24, T. Perera 31, K. Kulasekera 3 for 63, C. Komasaru 5 for 52).

NCC: 200 and 199 for 4 (Y. de Silva 26, F. Maharoof 115 n.o, C. Wijesinghe 38 n.o, C. Vaas 2 for 18).

SSC rout Moors

Spinner Sachithra Senanayake took a match bag of eight wickets as SSC routed Moors SC outright by an innings and 83 runs in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match concluded at Maitland Place yesterday.

SSC: 466 for 7 decl.

Moors SC: 135 and 248 (N. Nawala 54, S. Wickremarachchi 76, C. Welagedera 76, D. Prasad 2 for 49, S. Senanayake 5 for 76, K. Lokuarachchi 2 for 65).

Dinesh bowls Ragama to victory

Leg spinner Dinesh Darshanpriya took a six wicket haul to spearhead Ragama CC to a first innings victory over Tamil Union in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match concluded at the NCC grounds in Maitland Place yesterday.

Ragama CC: 361 and 268 for 8 (I. Daniel 24, S. de Zoysa 55, K. Weeraratne 86, M. Bandara 19, D. Darshanpriya 56 n.o, C. Liyanagunawardena 5 for 89, J. Mendis 2 for 64).

Tamil Union: 318 (D. Darshanpriya 6 for 71, N. Premaratne 2 for 50).
