Subhani Udeshika steals the limelight

The AIDEX Sports Festival for disabled persons organised by Jaipur Foot Program of the Colombo. Friend in Need Society was worked off yesterday at Sports Ministry ground, Reid Avenue. Over 400 disabled men and women athletes of various age groups took part in the meet in 55 events in different categories.

Thivanka and Isuri TT champs

Thivanka Theekshana of St. Joseph’s College, Enderamulla and Isuri Nirmani Dammula of Anula Vidyalaya Nugegoda emerged champions in the Under 18 Boys singles and Girls Singles of the Western Province Junior Table Tennis Championship 2009, which was conduced by Nugegoda Table Tennis Club on Saturday.

Bloomfield bounce back to beat Army outright

Off spinner Suraj Randiv returned career best figures and came closer to capturing all ten wickets in an innings as Bloomfield came back magnificently to beat Sri Lanka Army Sports Club outright by five wickets in their SLC Premier League cricket tournament Tier A match concluded at Reid Avenue yesterday.
