CPC work-to-rule ends

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Trade Unions called off their work-to-rule campaign with effect from midnight yesterday.

This was revealed at a press briefing summoned by the media spokesman for the Combined Trade Unions Alliance D.J. Rajakaruna.

Meanwhile, CPC Chairman Major General Asoka Thoradeniya said he expects all workers to report for duties by 8.30 a.m. today adding that those who fail to do so will be dealt with under the law.

Accordingly, all workers who were involved in the Trade Union action will return to their normal duties today ensuring a smooth distribution of fuel to all outlets.

The spokesman declared that their three-day work-to-rule campaign was a success and that they expect the Government to meet the demands of the TUs.
