Industrial Excellence Award 2009

Industrial Excellence Award 2009 ceremony held to recognize and reward high flying Small and Medium Industrialists will be held at the ceremonial sessions of the 46th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Small Industry at the "Waters Edge" on December 1.

The main award for this event is the "Platinum" which carries a trophy and a cash prize sponsored by Dialog Telekom PLC, who are the main sponsors for this event.

Entries to this event were carefully considered by an eminent panel of judges chaired by University of Moratuwa Electronic and Telecommunications Senior Professor Kapila Jayasinghe. Others on the panel were Ministry of Industrial Development Assistant Director Rohan Jayatilleke, BOI Senior Manager - Investment H. Seneviratne, Sri Lanka Export Development Board Research and Development and TIS Head Georged Perera, Dialog Telekom PLC Group Marketing Promotions Senior Manager Chirantha De Soysa and 2008 Platinum Award Winner, K.I.K. Lanka (Pvt) Limited Chairman and Managing Director and Member of the Executive Council of the Sri Lanka Chamber of Small Industry Lalith Kahatapitiya.

This is the fourth year in succession this awards ceremony is being held. For last three years, the competition was only among the 300 members of the Chamber.

"This year we have opened the competition to the entire Small and Medium Industrialists in the country and we expect a large number of Industrialists taking part in this event" said President of the Chamber Aloy Jayawardene PHF.

The launching of the new identity of the Chamber which is incorporated by an Act of Parliament as "Sri Lanka Chamber of Small and Medium Industries," will take place at this celebration.
