Athletes banned for doping

The Russian Athletics federation anti-doping committee has banned three athletes for failing dope tests, local media reported Tuesday.

Hammer thrower Alexei Korolev failed a dope test on July 26 at the national championships in Cheboksary, while two walkers, Yevgeny Apanasenko and Maria Petrova, gave samples containing banned substances at the Russian Cup in Penza on September 18.
