'Hospital project will strengthen friendly ties'

The Government of Japan has continuously supported the efforts of Government of Sri Lanka to improve the livelihood of Sri Lankan people.

I am confident that the Dambana Hospital Project to be implemented at a cost of Rs.9.2 million will assist in uplifting health and welfare in the Badulla District and the project will also contribute to strengthen friendly ties between Japan and Sri Lanka, Japanese Ambassador Kunio Takahashi said.

Addressing the gathering after signing the agreement to implement the project, the Japanese Ambassador said that the project supports to construct new maternity and dental units and provide dental equipment to the Dambana hospital in the Badulla district. The hospital has provided service to 16,000 people around the area including indigenous communities who observe traditional lifestyles.
