Rs. 3.6 m for single answer

Chief Government Whip Urban Development and Sacred Area Development Minister Dinesh Gunawardene told Parliament yesterday Rs. 3.6 million has already been spent to prepare an answer to an oral question asked by Chief Opposition Whip Joseph Michael Perera about the number of Samurdhi recipients in each Divisional Secretariat Division in the Gampaha district from year 2004 to year 2007.

The Minister said hundreds of pages have already been prepared as an answer to this question. More financial allocations has to be made to gather relevant information in connection with this question. Therefore, this question has become a serious financial headache.
