A touch of magic

Queen Clarabelle and King Horace loved attending royal balls and fabulous parties. One day, Queen Clarabelle decided to produce a wonderful competition of the prettiest and humble cottage. The king and queen had a beautiful daughter named Daisy. True to her name, she liked flowers and everything pretty and she often kept the royal gardeners quite busy.

Soon the news spread around and people started chattering at the top of their voices. Everyone was excited except for a humble farmer named Donald. One day, as he was fishing down in the stream, he saw a glimmering sight in the crystal clear water. Suddenly, a brainwave struck his mind. He decided to pick it up. So, he bent down, jabbed his hands into the water and picked out the unknown object.

Almost at once he started to get the feeling that it's a magic wand. He fiddled around the magnificent wand with a pair of trembling hands. He wanted to go home and test its magic. So he rowed swiftly on his tiny boat, parked it near the river bank and hurriedly rushed home. He burst opened the door and checked his magic. He got a strange feeling that this shiny wand would help him in winning the contest. So late that afternoon, Donald set to work straight away.

First, he decided to thatch the roof so with the help of the magic wand it was soon thatched from top to bottom. Next, the lawn needed mowing so Donald flicked his magic wand and hey presto! The mowing was done in a wink. Soon, little by little the job was done and the house turned out to be spick and span. Soon the day of the competition dawned bright and clear.

Donald couldn't remember the reason for his excitement. Soon, light dawned on him that it was the day of the competition. He dressed in a hurriedly manner and stood by the wooden gate for the Princess to arrive. He suddenly heard the fanfare and knew that the Princess was coming. Princess Daisy went a whole trip around the town and at last came to the place where Donald lived. He started to shiver with excitement because it was the first time of his life that he saw a princess. The princess took a step into the tiny cottage and wandered around.

She examined every corner and at last exclaimed with joy that Donald was the winner of the contest. Donald was tongue tied for a moment and could not get a word out of his mouth. He soon found his breath and actually asked what the reward was. Daisy was not at all surprised and at once said what it was. Donald was invited to the royal ball queen Clarabelle had organized! Donald leapt with joy and flung himself on the princess.

Thanks to the magic wand, Donald had the dream of his life come true. That's what they say, just a touch of magic always make your dreams come true!
