Rahula bowls Rajans to eight wicket victory

Off spinner Rahula Ekanayake captured a match bag of 9 for 63 to bowl Dharmaraja College to an eight wicket win over Sri Sumangala College, Panadura in their inter-school cricket match concluded at Lake View grounds, Kandy yesterday.

Rajans in reply to Sri Sumangala’s first innings total of 166 scored 231 gaining a first innings lead of 65 runs. Sri Sumangala in their second innings were dismissed for 159 with Ramesh Yapa Bandara taking 4 for 56 and Rahula Ekanayake returned the figures of 4 for 53 in the first innings he got 5 for 30.

Sri Sumangala College: 166 all out and 159 all out in 49.2 overs (Kavinda Erantha 36, Sameera Harshana 42, Vimukthi Kaushalya 27, Rahula Ekanayake 4 for 53, Ramesh Yapa Bandara 4 for 56).

Dharmaraja College: 231 all out in 56 overs (Sandun Weerakkody 63, Kavinda Wijekoon 44, Ramesh Bandara 36, Pratap Silva 31, Vimukthi Kaushalya 4 for 43, Chaminda Niroshan 4 for 59) and 85 for 2 in 15 overs (Kavinda Wijekoon 26 n.o., Ramesh Yapa Bandara 36).
