Migrant workers lead foreign capital inflow

Remittances of migrant workers are close to US $ 3 billion or seven percent of the GDP or 36 percent of exports earnings and it is the second largest foreign exchange earner to Sri Lanka.

CB approves 134 banking centres in NE

The banking sector needs to play a major role in the economic activities in the Northern and the Eastern provinces. We need to ensure that the financial infusion takes place in these provinces. Noritake Lanka opens printing plant

Noritake Lanka Porcelain opened their printing plant in Matale last week with an investment of Rs. 300 million, a statement from the company said. This plant is equipped with the latest machines and technologies used in the printing of design transfer sheets for the ceramic industry.
