Traffic arrangements for Army Anniversary celebrations

The Police Headquarters has informed about traffic arrangements in the area around the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo in view of the Army's 60th Anniversary celebrations which will be held until October 23.

Access to areas around R. Premadasa Stadium from the following roads are allowed only for residents and vehicles used by officials in the area.

For other roads

remain closed.

* From Jumma Masjid junction to Jumma Masjid Road.

* Jumma Masjid lane Saddharma Mawatha junction.

* Saddharma Mawatha Keththarama Road junction.

* Baseline Road Old Bodhiraja Mawatha junction.

* Baseline Road New Bodhiraja Mawatha junction.

* Babapulle Bridge.

* From Babapulle Road Grandpass Road junction to Babapulle Road.

If there any traffic congestion during this traffic arrangement in Pradeepa Mawatha or Saddharma Mawatha areas, the following alternative roads may be used to exit from Colombo.

If there is a block to proceed to Saddharma Mawatha from Sangaraja roundabout and Jayantha Weerasekera Mawatha, vehicles approaching from Maradana and Pettah can use Sangaraja roundabout, Sangaraja Mawatha, Armor Street Signal Light, Bandaranayake Mawatha.

If there is a traffic block to enter Saddharma Mawatha from Ingram junction, their vehicles can move along Baseline Road to Dematagoda.

The public coming to witness the celebration can park their vehicles at Saddharma Mawatha Public Car Park (From Keththarama junction to Ingram Junction near Kanatte) and also at Sathosa Public Car Park.
