Arms cache in Mannar

The Vavuniya District Crime Investigation Unit recovered a cache of arms including claymore bombs, explosives and ammunition hidden by LTTE terrorists at Mawilluwa near the Wilpattu jungle in Silawathura area Mannar.

These armaments included four claymore mines weighting five and three kgs, 13 kgs of C4 type explosives 1,440 live bullets of T56 weapons, 2,000 electric detonators, 10 mtr detonator code and a stock of dried ration.

These explosives were packed in plastic barrels and buried.
