Scholarships to university qualified students

The annual scholarships awarding ceremony of the Parent’s Memorial Scholarship Foundation at Kotuwegoda Rajagiriya was held recently at the Foundation office under the patronage of Ven. Dr. Mirisse Dhammika Thera.

Scholarships were awarded to students who were qualified to enter the universities in 2009.

Forty students were selected from low income families covering 16 districts and 11 universities. Scholarships were awarded for Medicine, Engineering, Management, Science, Maths, Art, Law and Commerce courses.

More than 1,000 youth were provided with scholarships. The Foundation pays Rs. 1,000 a month to each scholarship awardee.
